Manufacturing Process and Technical Data

At Revolution, each wheel is produced at one factory in the U.K., where each step of the manufacturing process, from initial design to shipping, is conducted with strict control.
By combining the latest technology available with extensive experience gained from decades of building 1000's of competition and prototype wheels (including for some of the biggest names in motorsports), Revolution can offer you the best wheel available for competition use at the best value.
What follows is a brief description of our process so you may compare and make a confident, educated decision on your wheel purchase.

Manufacturing Process

You will find that we produce wheels designed for serious competition use, and for those who desire our product for the street, a variation  is made especially for them. However, you will not find a multitude of styles since we are not in the "fashion" or "cookie cutter" wheel business, as we prefer to serve the serious competitor and enthusiast!

We feel strongly that once you are aware of our technique and intense desire to provide outstanding service, your choice will be simple...Revolution!

Design:

Cad Cam Technology is used to bring forth new designs or modifications of existing ones. With our extensive database, engineering drawings can be made that allow the pattern maker in the tool shop to build or modify patterns with amazing efficiency and accuracy. Our designs are made to allow for maximum brake clearance, cooling and lightness.

Casting:

Revolution uses a low pressure method of casting, a practice that has been perfected in design and years of experience, which ensures a very controlled, even flow of material into the pattern.

Our Race and Rally Wheels are made from a very pure LM25 Alloy which is then heat-treated and age hardened. This allows the wheel to have enormous radial strength to cope with ever advancing technology in today's race tires and chassis designs. In addition, the wheel has exceptional ability to absorb impact without fracturing.

Our Road Wheels are produced from a LM9 Alloy which is not heat treated, thereby allowing the wheel to be more conducive to road conditions such as potholes and curbs.

Machining:

Our machining department employs the use of sophisticated C.N.C. equipment operated by a highly skilled staff of technicians. All critical specifications are carefully plotted to assure a very high degree of uniformity in design. The tooling used to machine is of the highest quality.

Finish:

All Revolution Wheels are finished to a very high degree using diamond turning, powder coating and lacquering methods, dependent upon the style of the wheel. This allows for an appealing yet durable appearance for the wheel.

Quality Control & Testing:

Both destructive and non-destructive testing is used in the production of Revolution Wheels. As a matter of routine, castings will be carefully inspected at various stages to make sure uniformity is controlled. Whether it means cutting up the first castings of a new batch to check flow, or double and triple checking the machining operation, quality is the keyword in our process. Each wheel is 100% X-rayed and pressure tested before receiving final approval. Revolution competition Wheels are designed and tested to meet all current and proposed legislation on alloy competition wheels including TUV (Germany), JWL (Japan), SEMA (USA), and ISO 9001 (UK).

We Sincerely hope that you have gained an accurate understanding of how Revolution Competition Wheels are made. We invite you to use this information to compare our product to others so you may make a most informed decision regarding your wheel purchases.
